What a Whirlwind of a Week!

To say it has been a busy week would be an understatement!  While a bit hectic, it has also been a lot of fun getting to know the students of Room 25.  We’re all working together to make the transition as easy as possible for all (including me!).

Some things that we have done in our first week together:  Anju’s mom was our mystery reader and shared a very funny book with our class called The Book With No Pictures.  There were lots of giggles during that silly story!  Our book buddies from Mrs. Hevey’s class came and read with us, we participated in an all-school assembly to talk about how “Sometimes it Just Takes One” (ask your children about the rainstorm in the cafeteria!), we had a Fun Friday read aloud and craft project creating our own snow-creatures, and we started our new science unit on the Solar System.  Throughout our busy days, we have also made time to get to know each other better, discuss some of our favorite books, and share some of the ways we are a community of learners who support and encourage one another.

I have enjoyed every minute of our first week together and look forward to many more memorable moments and weeks as the year continues!
